Professor Adrian Bloor MA MB BChir PhD FRCP FRCPath is a highly experienced Consultant Haematologist. He graduated from Cambridge University in 1994 with a degree in Medicine. Following this , he undertook General Medical training in Cambridge, Specialist Haematology Training at University College Hospital, London and a research leading to a PhD at Cambridge Institute of Medical Research.

In 2006, he moved to Manchester to take up a Consultant post in Haemato-Oncology. He directs the Christie Stem Cell Transplant Program and has been Divisional Medical Director since 2024. In 2019 he was awarded an Honorary Clinical Chair by the University of Manchester.

Professor Bloor has a special interest in the management of lymphoid malignancies, particularly Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia (CLL) and lymphoma, cellular therapies including CAR-T therapy, stem cell transplantation and clinical trials.

He was Clinical Director of the MAHSC (Manchester Academic Health Sciences Centre) Clinical Trials Unit based at The Christie between 2009 and 2015. He is principle or chief investigator for a large number of trials in haemato-oncology and stem cell transplantation.

He is a member of the NCRI CLL Clinical Trials Committee, the Blood and Stem Cell Transplantation Clinical Reference Group (NHS England) the University of Leeds CLL Trials Management Group, the UK CLL Forum Executive Committee and Advisory Panels to the Lymphoma Action, Leukaemia Care and Bloodwise.

Professor Bloor accepts referrals for adult private patients (18 years and older) for advice and treatment of haematological cancers (including ALL, CLL, PLL, myeloma, amyloidosis, lymphoma), stem cell transplantation (allogeneic and autologous), cellular therapies (including CAR-T) as well as non-malignant general haematology.

From July 2025 Professor Bloor will be undertaking private practice exclusively at The Christie Private Care (a joint venture between HCA Healthcare and the Christie NHS Foundation Trust).

He sees both self pay and insured patients is recognised by all major insurers. He is a BUPA Fee Assured Platinum Consultant and Vitality Premier Consultant.
